If I was a fish


Perhaps you would catch me

Or we would never meet at all


Out of all the ocean creatures

I’d wonder if that’s how it was meant to be


But if you were a fish


I’d make like an octopus

And have a garden in the shade


Waiting for you to swim by

And extend an invitation to stay a while


Can a fish drink iced lemonade?

I hope so
